On November 5, 2022, my life changed forever; never in a million years would I ever imagined getting the phone call I received that day. My son contacted me screaming from the top of his voice and conveyed that my sweet precious baby girl, Tierra Alexis Grant, was never coming home, she had been in a horrible car accident that had caught on fire, and her body burned to death.
In the midst of a broken heart, my father, Alexander Grant Sr. with whom I was his primary caregiver for a year, died two weeks later of congested heart failure. The unexpected death of my daughter at 20 years old and my father, "my hero," caused me to experience severe major depression.
In spite of my life changing forever, I have decided to turn my pain into purpose by establishing TAG 3 Foundation to honor my daughter's and father's life, with a mission to make an impact in the lives of today's and tomorrow's youth. My heart desires to reach as many youths as possible and allow them to receive the essential things they need to help them excel in every aspect of their lives by providing school supplies, Tablets, and tutoring and mentoring services.
As the founder of TAG 3 Foundation, the executive board and I are committed to providing and partnering with other organizations and various community outreach programs in order to ensure that today's youth are given the opportunity to reach their maximum potential and become productive young men and women in our diversified and challenging society.
Best Wishes,
- Alexander Grant, Jr.
